Scales! Some monarchs do 'ave em. I love showing people young and old that butterflies and moths have wing scales that almost resemble bird feathers - it never fails to blow some minds!
 
This image is a composites of 32 images captured with an OMAX microscope, focus-stacked and stitched together. 
 
All indicated sizes are printed on a Premium 255gsm Metallic Gilcee paper unless clearly labelled "POSTER". See "Papers" on the right for more info.
